In today’s article, we will explore the dark sides of AI — the hidden risks, the threat to jobs, privacy, and our own minds.
But let’s not worry, we will discuss it in a simple and real way and you will see how AI-powered the world.
THE RISE OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE
It started with the dream of machines that could think and act smartly, just like humans.
And this dream has turned into a revolution — from self-driving cars, AI robots, and AI use everywhere.
Marketing companies like Google, OpenAI, or Meta have created Artificial Intelligence (AI) systems that detect a human’s behavior, what kind of things they like, and then slowly, the AI observes those things according to their mood.
AI sees many other things in the same way in which he is interested — these things control the human’s mind.
At first glance, it seems good that AI can grow businesses, work 24/7 without fatigue, and save time.
But a big question is — What Happens When Machines Start Replacing Humans?
JOB LOSS: HUMANS VS MACHINES
There is a huge fear that Artificial Intelligence (AI) doesn’t take any breaks, works 24/7, doesn’t get tired, doesn’t take any salary — which is a great thing for companies.
And companies are not even hiring humans anymore.
They are giving more importance to the software of Artificial Intelligence (AI) that this AI automation will take over and destroy the human system.
For Example:
- You might have noticed that many offices have new chatbots for customer replies which automatically reply to the customers 24/7 anytime.
- In factories, robots build cars faster than humans.
- Even in creative fields, tools like ChatGPT and Midjourney write articles, student assignments, create and design posters.
According to a previous report, Artificial Intelligence (AI) is expected to replace 300 million jobs in some capacity across the world with the help of its automation.
But many new AI jobs have also been created like AI trainers and data engineers — but not everyone can easily shift to these.
THE PRIVACY PROBLEM
You have noticed that whenever you go on YouTube or any social media platform like Facebook, whatever you start typing, it already appears in front of you.
And often if you want to order a pizza online, you open a social media and start seeing sponsors for pizza and fast food on that platform.
How does this happen?
This is because of AI (Artificial Intelligence). It is tracking our voices, location, and searches — even if we are not using the phone.
You must have seen the Face Unlock System — AI sees your face and the phone gets unlocked.
It detects the voice commands you make and responds to them.
It opens the apps you say like:
“Hey Google, open YouTube.”
“Hey Google, call XYZ from my contact numbers.”
AI automatically detects your voice, what you’re saying, and takes action at the same time.
FAKE REALITY — THE DEEPFAKE PROBLEM
Now what is Deepfake?
There are some Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools which make videos like a real human, but they are fake videos — yet they look real.
This is called Deepfakes.
Now this deepfake has ruined everything.
People create such deepfake videos on their laptops of politicians and talk nonsense.
By making deepfake videos against other countries, lies are spread and their entire reputation gets destroyed.
Many deepfake creators make deepfake videos of famous celebrities and talk nonsense — which is a very false thing.
THE ADDICTION TO AI TOOLS
Many people do not know that they are badly addicted to Artificial Intelligence (AI).
You must have often heard that Instagram, TikTok, YouTube — all these social media are a trap that wastes time, and this is absolutely 100% correct.
But the real reason behind this is Artificial Intelligence (AI) software.
On these social media platforms, they have developed software that suggests videos to the human according to their mood.
They automatically recommend videos according to moods — these platforms are made so that no person can go anywhere else and ends up spending all his time on them.
THE THREAT TO CREATIVITY
Now Artificial Intelligence (AI) creates poems, music, stories, songs, and artwork on its own within seconds.
But you must realize that the real human artists and writers do not get any credit now because of AI — their work has been destroyed and accounted for.
All this Artificial Intelligence (AI) has learned human behavior, and now it has made the jobs of real human artists disappear.
Many artists were complaining that they should get credit somehow — but this was not possible.
So, it is important that you learn Artificial Intelligence (AI) and use it in your work so that tomorrow you too have an idea.
OVER DEPENDENCE ON AI
Now those people who know how to use Artificial Intelligence like ChatGPT have started getting their daily work done through it.
Students make their assignments and many things — even the smallest — through the tools of Artificial Intelligence (AI).
This is making people lazy and weak in creativity.
Instead of thinking on their own, they rely on AI to create according to its own calculations.
And these things stop humans from thinking of new ideas and solving even the smallest problems independently.
For Example:
The best example is the calculator.
Earlier people used to solve all the calculations on paper using their minds, but now even the smallest calculations are done automatically on the calculator.
Because their brain has become weak and they have become addicted to that thing — they have started doing even the smallest calculations using the calculator.
OUR OPINION AND EXPERIENCE
My first aim in this article was to tell you all the dark sides of Artificial Intelligence (AI) — its advantages and disadvantages.
Now let’s talk about my opinion.
My opinion is that you should learn Artificial Intelligence (AI), learn about it as I am doing.
Do not go directly towards more detailed software — first get experience with easy Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools and then move on.
